Toastmasters is doing a my why. I have decided to write mine down. Some background first, I have known about Toastmasters since childhood. My dad was in Toastmasters and even was a district governor. This was alson before women were in Toastmasters. Secondly, I watched my mom support what my dad did in Toastmasters. When Gary, my husband, joined Toastmasters I wanted to support him also. I joined two clubs to start, Denton Toastmasters and Las Colinas Toastmasters.
I have learned many things in toastmasters to make me a better (fill in the blank). I have made many friends. I am a very social person, an extrovert. I don't know a stranger, I like to help others. I stumble often. Toastmasters helps because I can learn to speak better, communicate better, coach better, live better.
Toastmasters has evolved to fit in better with our 21st century technology and life. I have joined, reluctantly, in that evolution. Technology intimidates me. But, I am still becoming a better (fill in the blank).
My next few blogs will take us through beginning a Toastmaster journey.
Welcome to Toastmasters, specifically Denton Toastmasters.
