Why is writing my speech for a specific audience important?

writing a speechWith my renewed focus on improving the content of my speeches I too along with other members of the club have enrolled in an online course, a writing composition 101 course! I was reading the resources supplied for one of the exercises and I just wanted to share it all with you, for those of you who might have wondered why there is always this drive to "know your audience".
