A Message from the President, Sasha Magee:
Fellow Toastmasters,
I am so thrilled and excited to announce that Shannon Geier has won the Area 13 Fall Speech Contest in the category of Table Topics!
Each of the participants in the Table Topics competition were given the same question, “What fad of the 20th Century would you bring back and why?” and, as Table Topics protocol dictates, had to present their answer immediately, with no preparation.
Shannon gave a heartfelt, impassioned speech, beseeching the audience to join her in returning Disco to its once held glory. While the judges may have been horrified at the thought of Disco returning, they did admire Ms. Geier’s enthusiasm as she celebrated a style of music that “gets your feet tapping and your heart pumping as it celebrates life!”
With this victory, Shannon now moves on to the Division B Contest, on Saturday, October 31, where she will compete against other Area Contest Winners. We are so proud of Shannon and her representation of our club.
