1. The monetary unit in the majority of the countries in the European Union.

2. A large type of kangaroo or wallaroo.

Confusingly for visitors to Europe there is no common pronunciation for the currency unit across the member states.

A little humour is evident at the European Commission, where there is a Kangaroo Group dealing with aspects of the currency.
