Uncontrolled use of obscene language, eg as a characteristic of Tourette's syndrome.
As you know, Mr Speaker, it is my custom from time to time to end the sitting by offering some reflections on the nature of the debate. I have to say that, this week, we reached some new lows. The Chief Minister, in particular, alternated between what I suspect he thinks of as a Clint Eastwood style of monosyllabic frowning and compulsive coprolalia.
Several students who are recognized as having Tourette Syndrome with coprolalia, the vocal tic that results in the uttering of profanity, have been suspended for swearing in class. In those cases, the principals decided that the swearing was willful and had nothing to do with the syndrome.
