perambulation (noun) pur-am-byu-LAY-shun

A leisurely walk, a walk to carry out an inspection or survey, a ceremonial walk to assert official boundaries, beating about the bush in discussion, wandering in thought.

... leaving Mr. Downing, his brain fizzing with the enthusiasm of the detective, to lock the door and resume his perambulation of the cricket field.

P.G. Wodehouse, Mike, Ch. 48. Amazon

Even the familiar practice of going carol-singing may be a Christianized form of some such perambulation.

Clement A. Miles, Christmas In Ritual and Tradition, Christian and Pagan, Ch.5 Amazon

The notion that recipients of princely perambulations around such subjects as the Human Rights Act or the future of bloodsports have some sort of constitutional obligation to keep them secret is risible.
