We have great news to share with you.  Advanced Leadership Club has changed our meeting day to 2nd & 4thThursdays. Additionally, we are going to begin having hybrid meetings on Thursday, May 12 at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting in person as well as having Zoom will continue for our out-of-town visitors and members. We are in the process of arranging meeting rooms. Please bear with us. Here are our 1st two Hybrid meeting locations.

5/12 - Glen Allen Library, 10501 Staples Mill Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060.  GL Conference Room
5/26  - Publix, The Shoppes at Crossridge, 10250 Staples Mill Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Community Room upstairs.

Our club has so much fun together. We would love to get to know you and let you see why we are more than an advanced club, but a family of Toastmasters.

Requirements for club membership:

All persons seeking membership in the Advanced Leadership Club must meet one of these (3) requirements:

  • obtained a Pathways Level 2 education award
  • are seeking a dual Toastmasters Club Membership by joining our club
  • are seeking leadership opportunities with the expectation of achieving Level 1 in 4 months and Level 2 in 1 year under the guidance of a mentor.

Dues:  $45 every six months + $5 club dues

Meeting date:  2nd & 4th Thursdays beginning May 12

Time:: 6:30-8:00 pm.

Requirements for membership 

  • CC or Pathways Level 2 
  • Dual membership club
  • Toastmaster officer or member with interest in District 66 Leadership
  • Business appropriate dress
  • Networking hour with dinner meeting (original premise)
  • Dues: $50 every six months 
  • Meeting date:  1st & 3rd Friday Nights.  
  • Time:  5:30-6:30 Networking, Dinner Meeting:  6:30-8:30. Zoom meeting: 6:30-8:30.

Once our Covid-19 restrictions are over, we will take the meeting back to a dinner club meeting in a restaurant for RVA members and have Zoom for out-of-towners.

The easy-Speak software allows Toastmaster clubs to automate their meeting planning and to track and support members' development. It provides a full data management system, automating the agenda and freeing the VPE's time to do what is important - support and encourage the members.

The system also gives a full web-site to each club - much of which is updated automatically as meetings are planned or club officers change. There is a large menu of pre-prepared Toastmaster content available and it is all controlled by the current club officers - who may easily add or change content or re-arrange the pages, using drag-and-drop.

Clubs from other Districts may use the software, without charge, through this site.

Speaking Tips

Everyone in a Toastmasters meeting was once at the level you are now. The environment is friendly and supportive, and the self-paced programme allows you to build confidence with each speaking assignment.

  • A typical club has between 20 to 40 members who meet either weekly, biweekly or monthly. An evening meeting normally lasts around 90- 120 minutes.
  • There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations, pointing out the strengths and suggesting improvements. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success. Members also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop their leadership skills.
  • We learn through the Toastmasters Pathways learning experience, an exciting, flexible and interactive way to develop your skills and help others in your club develop theirs. Pathways helps you learn communication and leadership skills that you need to succeed. It gives you:

    • The opportunity to build  up to 300 unique competencies
    • 10 specialized learning paths to choose from
    • Online content, so that you can learn anytime, anywhere
    • Real-world, transferable skills

One thing that you'll love at Toastmasters meetings is the applause. At first you'll be applauded for your effort; later you'll be applauded for your skill.
