Now Hear This Meetings Switched to Zoom Meetigs

NHT Toastmasters has switched to virtual ZOOM meetings. We have also changed the time to 6:30 PM. We now meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays. We will probably continue to have meetings via zoom through the summer of 2022.

With all the bad things happening in the world we are all learning new ways to communicate and that is what Toastmasters is all about. If you would like to join our virtual meetings, contact David Bennett david38TM@gmail.com

District 38 Awards David Bennett Super Hero Award

D38 Awards David Bennet Superhero Award

Toastmasters District 38 Director Basha McCrumb recently presented CCTC VP of Education David Bennett with a medal recognizing him as a Toastmasters Superhero for his exceptional efforts in supporting CCTC and neighboring clubs during these challenging times. Please join us in congratulating David for receiving this much deserved recognition! Thanks, David, for all your hard work!

How Toastmasters Helped Me

For several years, I have volunteered to teach the Be A Success segment of the Junior Achievement's (JA's) Your Economic Success (YES!) Program.  I had to do seven 45 minute sessions (which included a 25-minute game the students did on their own).  It was a unique experience, in that I had seven chances to present the information and, then,  I could self-evaluate after each session regarding what went well, what didn't; what material I seemed to have a good handle on, or that I felt I could have presented more clearly, and what I needed to do to address that.

Getting to 'practice' a presentation seven times to get the timing down and to really get a grasp on what I was presenting was a really neat opportunity.  Unfortunately, my fee was a little less than the Clintons get and in the form of a YES! WATER bottle!

I do know that without Toastmasters, I don't think I would have had the confidence to volunteer for JA's financial literacy program which I think is so important for middle and high school students to be exposed to before the start having to make decisions about college and careers.  To be able to give back in this way is one of my biggest motivations for belonging to Toastmasters now that I am retired.

The Toastmasters Mission
A statement of shared values

Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.
