You’ve come to the right place. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped more than 4 million people just like you, from around the world, become more confident speakers and leaders.

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development, with more than 364,000 members in over 16,200 clubs in 145 countries. This network of clubs and their learn-by-doing programme are sure to help you improve.

Toastmasters will give you the skills and confidence you need to express yourself effectively in any situation. Whether you are a professional, student, stay-at-home parent or retired, Toastmasters is the most efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining great communication skills. You'll learn how to:

  • Formulate and express your ideas effectively
  • Be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations
  • Improve your one-on-one dealings with others

Don't delay! Become the speaker and leader you want to be. Confident, charismatic leaders weren't born that way. As you progress in Toastmasters, you'll get to practice your skills by organising and conducting meetings and motivating others to help you. Become a better negotiator. Gain trust. Inspire your team.

Visit our next meeting - guests are most welcome. You won't regret it!

How Toastmasters Helped Me

For several years, I have volunteered to teach the Be A Success segment of the Junior Achievement's (JA's) Your Economic Success (YES!) Program.  I had to do seven 45 minute sessions (which included a 25-minute game the students did on their own).  It was a unique experience, in that I had seven chances to present the information and, then,  I could self-evaluate after each session regarding what went well, what didn't; what material I seemed to have a good handle on, or that I felt I could have presented more clearly, and what I needed to do to address that.

Getting to 'practice' a presentation seven times to get the timing down and to really get a grasp on what I was presenting was a really neat opportunity.  Unfortunately, my fee was a little less than the Clintons get and in the form of a YES! WATER bottle!

I do know that without Toastmasters, I don't think I would have had the confidence to volunteer for JA's financial literacy program which I think is so important for middle and high school students to be exposed to before the start having to make decisions about college and careers.  To be able to give back in this way is one of my biggest motivations for belonging to Toastmasters now that I am retired.

The Toastmasters Mission
A statement of shared values

Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.

Speech Contests 2024

The Toastmaster Year 2023-2024 Speech Contests will be "International Speech" and "Humorous Speech."

Club Contests: complete by January 31, 2024 (in-person, hybrid, or online)

Area Contests: February 1-29 (online only)

Division Contests: March 1-31 (online only)

District Finals: Date May 3-5 (in-person)

Come and compete in one or both contests, and come and support and participate by taking on one of the many roles needed for the club to successfully run these contests.

What is the advantage of participating in a contest? In a word: growth. These contests offer the opportunity to test your skills against other Toastmasters in a multi-round, single elimination tournament. What’s so great about that? You get to push yourself to become better in speaking and speech writing because you know that you will be competing with some really good speakers.
