We suggest that before deciding to become a Toastmasters member, that you attend a meeting as a guest. Toastmaster club meetings tend to follow the same format from club to club, but the flavor of each club will be different. You are welcome to attend as a guest as often as you like, and/or visit other clubs to determine which one bests suits your style, and schedule.

Once you decide Toastmasters is for you, please contact an executive member of the club for more information.

Talk of Mackenzie Inactive Member Policy - voted by existing members (enacted on 8 May 2020)

Inactive Members, by this club's definition, is any member that has not attended a single club meeting in 3 months (consecutive).  The member will be reset to Active Member status at the next meeting they attend following their period of inactivity.   Inactive members will not be able to vote on any club business, including club elections, and they will not be counted in the official club Quorum for such business meetings.  Inactive members will also not be allowed to compete in club contests.  The inactive member status will be reflected on the club's EasySpeak (this will not affect the member's status on Toastmasters International site).

The Toastmasters Mission
A statement of shared values

Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.
