About Our Club

Imagine being prepared to speak anywhere, any time ...

If this lights you up, keep reading! Spontaneous Speakers is a group of Toastmasters who are focused on improving their impromptu speaking skills. These are the skills you need in job interviews, staff meetings, press conferences, or simply when your family, friends and co-workers put you on the spot.

What if you could say the right thing at the right time?

Our club is for experienced Toastmasters or for people who have a little speaking skill already. We don't replace a regular community club, but can accellerate your learning in this one area of communication.

We also put on workshops the first Thursday of each month for the community. If you love presenting workshops or if you want to hone in your event planning skills, you'll have plenty of opportunities on our team.

What you WON'T find in our club:

- boring, stodgy, self-importance

- long, rambling speeches

- strict "You must do it this way" feedback

What you WILL find in our club:

- people who are there to learn and grow

- lots of shorter, impromptu speaking opportunities

- an invitation to think out-of-the-box

The Toastmasters Mission
A statement of shared values

Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater selfconfidence and personal growth.

Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.

Toasty-Tip
Tip of the Day:
Wondering why your regular Club meeting says 'Contest' at the top of the view_meeting screen? It's because the agenda includes a role that you have defined as 'Contest Only'. Vote Counter is a popular one to get wrong - if your club uses a Vote Couter at every meeting you should go into the Club Control Panel and change the role so that it is NOT 'Contest Only'
