About Our Club
We are pleased to announce that Cedar Park, TX, has our own 4-H Toastmaster Gavel Club, a year round youth public speaking program.  Designed specifically for Middle and High School students.  However, being joined with District 8 Williamson county 4-H we accept Clovers K-2nd with their parent involvement.  Our older 4-H youth members range from 3rd grade through Seniors aka High School Graduation.

Summer of 2017 Mr. Calvin and Ms. Diana offered an Eight week class "Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program" to educate the youth within our city.  We started with a handful of youth interested in improving their public speaking skills. From this group Our Club journey began.  January 2018 Our first Cedar Park Gavel Club was born meeting March 8, 2018, started under the TM Youth Leadership Project, chartered June 2018 as a Gavel Club.

Cedar Park 4H Gavel Club is the only current Toastmaster Gavel Club in the greater Austin Area. Specifically, located in Cedar Park, TX – There was one other gavel club in Austin, but it folded in 2017

It is a GREAT group of kids and is amazing to be a part of it. The weekly speaking practice will improve skill and confidence when speaking in front of a group, whether it be from doing timed impromptu speeches, giving a full speech, or participating in games.

4-H youth are also the ones running this club. With the help of sponsors and parents of course, all of club officers are kids! This gives our youth the opportunity to lead a group using the 4-H  philosophy 'learn by doing"

A few interesting facts:
The history of Gavel Clubs in Texas is that they first became a part of the Toastmaster family in 1977.

Approximately 500+ Gavel Clubs are actively registered with Toastmasters International, which includes the international clubs. The Global Community consists of 200 Gavel clubs representing diverse countries such as the USA, Canada, Nigeria, Ghana, Gulf nations, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Mauritius, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia. Each of these clubs is affiliated with Toastmasters International
