About Our Club

Advanced Speakers on the Hill...

Welcome to ‘ASotH’ We serve members throughout southern York Region   Our members belong to clubs in Division M of District 123. If you are a seasoned speaker with a CC designation or higher, or you have 2 levels of Pathways, and you have a strong desire to advance your speaking and leadership skills further, then ‘ASotH’ can help you.

We provide…

Comprehensive evaluations:  With each speech, you’ll receive a targeted evaluation from an experienced evaluator, as well as a round table feedback session from all the members – an excellent way to gauge the audience appeal of your message.

Opportunities for varied, longer speeches:  Perhaps you’re doing a presentation at work, or a professional workshop, and you want to get feedback before presenting it in the ‘real world’. Or maybe the speech length in your advanced manual is too long to fit into a regular meeting. Maybe you’re doing a toast or a keynote speech, and need an audience to try it out on. Our flexible format can handle any of these situations.

Engaging and supportive environment:  You’ll receive a warm welcome, whether as a visitor or a new member. We’ll provide encouragement and mentorship as you work through your advanced manuals, and provide you with plenty of opportunities to complete both the leadership and communication tracks of the program. If you have already achieved your DTM designation, we can serve as a forum for you to hone your skills and to mentor newer members.

Experienced leaders:  Our members’ accomplishments are varied and extensive. Among our members are the winners of numerous speech contests all the way up to the  District level, as well as award-winning ‘Leaders-of-the-year’… Club President, Area Director, Division Director.

Opportunities to go beyond the club:  Many of our members have experience with Area, Division and District level leadership roles. They would be pleased to help you expand your network outside the club environment.

Check out our home club website for our meeting dates and time here: Advanced Speakers on the Hill

The Toastmasters Mission
A statement of shared values

Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.
