The Department of Internal Affairs' Toastmasters Club, DIAlogue, provides public sector employees with tools to become effective communicators and leaders, in both their professional and personal lives.
DIAlogue was chartered in August 2006 in Wellington and has been steadily growing from strength to strength since then. Members range from the very new to experienced.
You are welcome to visit our meeting,12.30-1.30pm, any Tuesday lunchtime. There is no obligation to join. The location changes weekly, please contact the club ahead of time via email to confirm the meeting location. Meetings are held at 45 Pipitea Street, Wellington or in the near vicinity.

DIAlogue meetings
DIAlogue meets every week for an hour and there is an opportunity for everyone to have a go at speaking in various roles.
The weekly agenda includes:
Roles roster Each week members are assigned a role e.g. Chair for the meeting, time keeper.
Impromptu speaking
Each session includes impromptu speaking, known as Table Topics, where volunteers speak on a specified topic for two minutes.
Prepared speeches One or two prepared speeches
Evaluation Part of each meeting is set aside for the evaluation of speakers. We are a supportive group and aim to help people improve. This includes words of encouragement and recommendations for doing things differently next time.
Joining toastmasters
When you join Toastmasters you gan access to the Toastmasters Pathways Learning Experience.
Venue:
Typically, DIAlogue meets at 45 Pipitea Street, Level 1 (Usually Rooms 1.01)
There are usually 10 to 15 people attending.
