Cornell Toastmasters Club is a Toastmasters Internationation club based in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Our club was registered in April 2015 to serve the East Markham Community.
Our mission as a Toastmasters® club is to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
Toastmasters is the best way for anyone — whether a working professional, student, stay-at-home parent or retiree — to improve his or her communication and leadership skills. Members overcome the fear of public speaking and learn skills that aid them in becoming more successful. Toastmasters creates better listeners and stronger team members and leaders who can comfortably give and receive constructive evaluations.
Community Benefits Toastmasters helps many members in their community-service activities. Using the skills developed in Toastmasters, members have become more active in business, church, service and charity organizations. Toastmasters are able to organize activities, conduct meetings and speak in public as their organizations’ representatives. Some even become active in local, state or national government.
THE BENEFITS ARE CLEAR: By participating in club meetings, members benefit by:
Improving speaking, listening, thinking and leadership skills.
Discovering hidden abilities and awakening latent talents.
Acquiring an expanded vision of the role of communication.
Increasing self-esteem through active participation in personal development.
Meeting Schedule: Every Thursday evening at 7 p.m. on Zoom. We invite you to come and check our meeting. |
