If you want to learn how to be a good speaker, you need to watch the people who are good at it. Toastmasters International has recently crowned the best speaker in the world (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyirBcKaIYI), and is offering you the chance to see him along with the other top-ranking world-class speakers during the recent competition by going to http://www.toastmastersondemand.com/.
Though it's probably worth the $29.99 to see these fantastic speakers, I also encourage you to take advantage of the free opportunities to see the best speakers.
Henry Miller is one of the best speakers in the bay area, and his speech entitled "The Messengers," is available on Youtube for free - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bdh1jrufs5o. Another great speech you can find on Youtube was one given by Aurora Filipski at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FowVdTLonV8.
Better yet, get out there and visit another club, watch, listen, and learn. I love it when new members join us, not only because it grows our chapter and brings in money for the club, but because I can learn from someone new, and see new styles of speaking. By visiting another chapter, you're almost guaranteed to see someone you haven't seen speak before.
