Our district has the "Club Ambassadors Program" (CAP) to help the district officers get to know their local clubs at scale. By visiting the Calendar link on the left side, you can see some of the other local club meetings (note, SWAN Toastmasters is right here at Symantec and meets on Thursdays, though that doesn't appear on that calendar).
Contact the club ahead of time and volunteer to be their general evaluator. They will be very appreciative of the outside perspective.
The CAP form at http://d4tm.org helps our district officers learn what's happening in each chapter and provide assistance to that chapter or recognize excellence.
Then come back to Securely Speaking with a new pair of eyes, and tell us as our general evaluator what skills other clubs have mastered that we should work on.
New member Nicole Tran is a CAP master, and I'm sure would be happy to answer questions you might have about being a Club Ambassador.
Our district also has a mailing list called Speakers 4 StageTime. It's for clubs to post available speaker slots (especially on short notice). There's more information about this at http://d4tm.org.
Finally, don't forget to check out the District 4 Toastmasters meetup.com web site. It's full of meetings put on by other clubs which are open to you & me. Sometimes it's a new Toastmasters club, sometimes it's a social activity, sometimes it's a special speaker.
So get out there and visit!
