New Toastmaster terms mean new Toastmaster goals

Signing out and signing in!

As June quickly rolls by our 2015/16 committee are busy preparing the new 2016/17 committee to take the helm of the club and continue steering it in a positive growth-fuelled direction. As their term comes to an end, it marks the term of a brand new team, and this years incoming team has one of the highest numbers of new faces than in a very long time!

This is great! This means fresh blood, fresh energy, fresh ideas, fresh goals, and all in the name of Southbank Toastmasters.

What does this mean for you as a member? Exactly the same, a time to start fresh. Pull out the cobwebbed goals, review your progress, ask yourself what do you want to achieve in the next 6-12 months, and what specific targets can your committee hold you accountable for to help you get the most out of your membership?

  • More educationals?
  • More improvisation?
  • More speeches?
  • More help from mentors?

I can't stress enough jumping onbaord the Nurtuure software and writing your speeches online. The simple sharing capability to directly send your drafts to your mentor will make feedback fast, slick, and trackable! The more of us with accounts the easier it is to share our work with each. Improvement does't happen in a vaccuum, we have to share our ideas, our thoughts, and help each other grow.

What does your next 6-12momths look like? Use your club to get you there, and all the tools we can throw your way!

Thanks Kayt, this is a timely reminder for all of us to take stock.

As I prepare to handover the reigns to our incoming President Tony I know the work dione this year by the club will be a good starting point for the new committee.

I endorse Kayt's recommendation of Nurtuur having used it for my last couple of speeches it is a great tool for all levels of speaker.

Lets finish the year of strong.

Cheers

Don Fessey

(President)
