About Our Club

The McGuire Achievers Toastmasters Club provides a mutually supportive and positive learning environment that enables members to develop effective public speaking and leadership skills. Our organization is a chartered club of Toastmasters International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking – vital skills that enhance one’s communications skills and leadership potential.

Looking to improve your speaking and leadership skills? Ignite your career? Gain the confidence to speak up?

You’ve come to the right place. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped more than 4 million people just like you, from around the world, become more confident speakers and leaders.

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development, with more than 364,000 members in over 16,200 clubs in 145 countries. This network of clubs and their learn-by-doing programme are sure to help you improve.

Toastmasters will give you the skills and confidence you need to express yourself effectively in any situation. Whether you are a professional, student, stay-at-home parent or retired, Toastmasters is the most efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining great communication skills. You'll learn how to:

  • Formulate and express your ideas effectively
  • Be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations
  • Improve your one-on-one dealings with others

Don't delay! Become the speaker and leader you want to be. Confident, charismatic leaders weren't born that way. As you progress in Toastmasters, you'll get to practice your skills by organising and conducting meetings and motivating others to help you. Become a better negotiator. Gain trust. Inspire your team.

Visit our next meeting - guests are most welcome. You won't regret it!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Welcome to McGuire Achievers – where laid-back vibes meet ambitious goals!  We're a fun-loving Toastmasters group dedicated to helping you reach your aspirations. Join us every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. The 2nd Thursday features in-person meetings, while the 4th Thursday is hosted on Zoom. We're excited to welcome you into the McGuire Achievers family! See you there!

McGuire Achievers ended the 2022 year with the esteemed designation of President's Distinguished.  To qualify, a club needs to have a minimum of 20 members enrolled.  However, to earn the President's Distinguished distinction, 9 points need to be obtained in the Distinguished Club Program.  These points consist of goals achieved by the Executive Board members and educational points awarded as a result of club members completing levels in Pathways. This year, 2024, we are looking to the future and are excited to grow our membership base. We welcome new energy and ideas to lead us to Presidents Distinguished again!

Members of McGuire Achievers have a passion for learning, self-improvement and gaining experience with public speaking and leadership roles.  Guests are always welcome to join meetings and will surely agree that it's a club worth spending time with.

The executive board of McGuire Achievers.

Julia Bailey, President

Richard Barker, Vice President of Education & Sergeant of Arms

Jeremy Bailey, Vice President of Public Relations & Membership

Lorraine Cuff, Treasurer

The Toastmasters Mission
A statement of shared values

Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.
