Personal Growth Through Shared Values & Commitment

Every Toastmasters club shares a common mission statement:

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self confidence and personal growth.

Koinonia Speakers Toastmasters embraces and expands on this mission statement in the true spirit and meaning of the word Koinonia:

We strive to contribute to each other's development as speakers and leaders through fellowship, sharing, joint participation and compassionate encouragement.

Through these mission statements, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose.  Thus, members, and the organization as a whole, benefit from a shared set of values, principles and goals.

NOTE:  The word Koinonia (koy-nohn-ee-ah) is a transliterated form of the Greek word, κοινωνία, which means communion, joint participation; the share which one has in anything, participation, a gift jointly contributed, a collection, a contribution, etc.  It identifies the idealized state of fellowship and unity that should exist among like-minded individuals.
