Our Recent Past
June 10 – Party Time
Mimi’s house is a great place for a party isn’t it? The rain tried to dampen our spirits, but nothing can stop toastmasters from toasting wienies over a fire. I hope everyone enjoyed their conversations, I was talking to the dogs…
June 30 – Final Meeting of the Year
The final meeting of the year is always a little bitter-sweet isn’t it? Here’s hoping we all have great summers and come back rested and ready for a new year.
July 14th – Table-topics-a-thon
Put a bunch of Toastmasters in one room with next to no plan and it becomes a laugh riot. Thank you to Dean for chairing this meeting, and thank you to everyone who came out to make something up. It was a lot of fun.
From your Executive
Your new executive team is rearing to go. Lot’s of plans are in place to make this a fun, and educational year. We are looking for volunteers to help at On Stop Registration and for someone to chair the Humorous Speech contest.
Team Time
Our area is looking to be ‘True North Strong’ this year. Everyone is encouraged to work hard on their Competent Leadership books, bring in friends and to consider visiting our sister clubs.
Toast Masters International
Toastmasters don’t just talk a lot, they also lead. But how do you even know if you, or one of the other members is a leader? Here’s a hint…
1) Look for motion
2) Look for a smile
3) Look for confidence
4) Look for humility
5) Look for camaraderie
6) Look for candor
7) Look for excellence
8) Look for inquisitiveness
9) Look for integrity
Think this might be you or someone you know? Want to develop these skills? All you need to do is let your mentor know and you’ll be off to the races.
