2017-18 Club Presidents Honored

The Bridge Builders 2017-2018 Presidential Trio were recently honored with the Area 62 Club President of the Year Award.  2017-2018 was a challenging year for Bridge Builders Toastmasters since we had three different Presidents at the helm.  Matt Bayer (far left with Dick Poirier as stand in) started the year but was transferred to Saudi Arabia in October 2017.  Euridice Oware (far right) stepped in to fill his shoes for several months but also needed to step down due to other commitments.  Megan Steiner (center) finished off the year.  This Trio maintained the continuity needed to enable the club to achieve President's Distinguished Status for the 6th year in a row!

Thank you Matt, Megan and Euridice!

Megan Steiner (left in left photo) presented Joanne Roman with her Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB) Award at a recent club meeting.  In addition to achieving her Competent Communicator and Competent Leader Awards, Joanne was required to serve as a Club Officer, participate in Club Officer training and Club Success Plan preparation and present two education modules to the club.  Congratulations, Joanne!  Thank you for your dedication.

Megan also presented Dick Poirier with a Certificate from District 54 for serving as Club Rescue Chair in 2017-2018.  Dick was responsible for working with low member clubs throughout the district, with a goal to help them return to charter strength (20 members or more).

About Our Club

Bridge Builders Toastmasters is President's Distinguished Once Again!

A Toastmasters Club quality is measured by its level of achievement of goals as set forth by Toastmasters International.  For the sixth year in a row, in 2017-2018, Bridge Builders Toastmasters reached the highest level of President's Distinguished status by attaining 9 of the prescribed 10 goals.  The goals relate to individual member achievement in communication and leadership as well as the number of new members joining the club.  Bridge Builders gained 11 new members this past year.  Several goals also relate to officers attending training and to administrative goals.  In recognition of this President's Distinguished accomplishment, the club will receive a special ribbon from Toastmasters International for displaying on the club banner.
