In Attendance: Kathy, Julie, Elena, Claudette, David, Rueben
Theme: Organization
Word of the Day: Extemporize - to improvise, ad lib, play it by ear, think on one\\'s feet; wing it, fly by the seat of one\\'s pants.
Julie gave her speech #7. After reading a book by Dan Brown, The Lost Symbol, she decided she needed to know more about the Noetic Sciences. This is based on an inner knowing that we theoretically all have. Looking at the mysteries of consciousness there are three main things: interconnectedness of the mind and body see through the placebo affect; interconnectedness of the universe through an all connected consciousness; and transformation of consciousness seen in personal accounts of near death experiences. Julie focused on the interconnectedness of the universe discussing intention experiments. Very fascinating material! As it’s a very vast topic I hope to hear more about this in upcoming speeches.
Table Topics began with Claudette discussing what was unique about her generation - being a grandma and older than the internet! It’s amazing how fast technology is changing each generation; Kathy talked about the 7 wonders of the world - to see, to hear, to touch, to taste, to feel, to laugh, and to love; Dave talked about whether work was valuable for it’s own sake - depends, have to have a balance with family, if you are doing things to make the world better; Elena was asked about the US’s amendments, and although not sure of the topic, she talked for over a minute!!; Rueben would definitely take a seat on the space shuttle, even though no longer a shuttle, any craft going into space, if he could he would go!
