About Our Club
Our new Elocutionists @UVic Toastmaster's Club chartered in July 2019. Our members are UVic staff, faculty, alumni and graduate students. We are a professional club meeting weekly at lunch time, with goals to develop our leadership, communication, coaching, public speaking skills, and more.

(Nov 21 /19) Congratulations to Amy for successfully achieving her Level 1 in Visionary Communication

(Nov 6 /19) Of our 22 club members, 9 of us are working through level 1 of 6 unique paths. 9 of us have successfully completed the Ice Breaker. 2 others have registered and are establishing their path.

All other members are encouraged to logon to Toastmasters, complete the initial goal setting exercise and choose your desired path.

Looking for Executive Team Members

(Nov 6) Elocutionists @UVic - you are invited to step up!

We are seeking member to join our leadership team and fill the following vacancies until June 30, 2020 of:

- Director of Communications/Public Relations

- Director of Membership

- Sergeant at Arms

If interested in exploring other Executive roles, we encourage you to start a conversation with club members presently in those roles. The Area 2 Speech Contest is slated for 6 pm - 9 pm on March 4, 2020

District Conference on April 24 - 26, 2020 in Nanaimo, BC.

Are you or anyone in your Club Completing the Education Program in 2020? 
The 2020 Conference in Nanaimo, BC April 24, 25, 26, 2020 is looking for Volunteers!
Complete your HPL: as a Conference Sub-Chair (Education, Registration, Fundraising, Contest, Entertainment, Program, Volunteers, Public Relations, Master of Ceremonies, Sergeant at Arms )
Finishing up Legacy? - Complete your ACG: Success Leadership/Success Communication Project at the Conference.                                                   
Success Leadership
  • Productive Meetings - 1 hour
  • Parliamentary procedure - 1.25 hour
  • Leadership I, II or III - 1.5 hours
  • Management Skills 2.5 to 3 hours
Success Communication
  • How to Listen - 2.5 to 3 hours
  • Effective Evaluation - 2 hours
  • Thinking Power I or II - 2 to 3 hours   
  • Speaker to Trainer - 4.75 hours

Districts must train club officers twice per year:

First Training: Between June 1 and August 31   (3)
